Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 27, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information DisputeAI (the “Service,” “we,” “us”) collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here. This policy works alongside our Terms & Conditions.
1. Who We Are
DisputeAI is a self-service tool that uses artificial intelligence to help you draft consumer dispute letters, phone scripts, and related documents. We are not a law firm and do not provide legal advice. This policy describes how we handle information when you visit our website and use the Service.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information. When you sign up, our authentication provider (Clerk) collects and stores your email address and, if you sign in with Google, basic profile information such as your name. We use this to create and secure your account.
- Payment information. When you subscribe, our payment processor (Stripe) collects your payment card details and billing information directly. We do not see or store your full card number; we receive only limited information such as a customer identifier, your subscription status, and the last four digits of your card.
- Dispute content you provide. The details you type into the Service to generate a document — such as the nature of your dispute, names, dates, amounts, account references, and any background you describe — are collected so we can generate your output.
- Evidence you upload. If you upload images or PDFs to refine a letter, we process those files to extract relevant facts. These uploaded files are processed for that request and are not retained by us after the document is generated.
- Saved letters. If you choose to save a letter, the generated document and the inputs associated with it are stored in our database and linked to your account so you can access them later. You can delete saved letters at any time from your dashboard.
- Usage and analytics data. We log basic, privacy-minimizing analytics about visits — such as which page was viewed, an approximate location (city/region) derived from your connection, your browser and operating system type, and the marketing source or referral that brought you to the site. We do not store your IP address with these events and we do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies for this analytics.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Generate the documents, scripts, and outputs you request;
- Create, authenticate, and secure your account;
- Process subscriptions, free trials, billing, and refunds;
- Provide, maintain, debug, and improve the Service;
- Understand, in aggregate, how people find and use the Service so we can improve it; and
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own advertising purposes.
4. AI Processing of Your Content
To generate your documents, the content you provide is sent to our third-party artificial-intelligence provider (Anthropic) for processing. That provider returns the generated text to us, which we then display to you. Your use of this feature is subject to that provider’s applicable terms and privacy practices. Because output is generated by AI, it may contain errors and should be reviewed before use, as described in our Terms.
Please share only the information necessary to describe your dispute. Avoid including sensitive details that are not needed — see Section 9 below.
5. How We Share Information
We share information only with service providers that help us operate the Service, and only as needed for them to perform their function. These include:
- Clerk — account authentication and management;
- Stripe — payment processing and subscription billing;
- Anthropic — AI processing to generate your documents;
- Neon — database hosting for saved letters and account-linked data;
- Vercel — website and application hosting.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to respond to lawful requests, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or in connection with a business transfer such as a merger or acquisition.
6. Payment Data
All payments are processed by Stripe. Your card details are entered directly with Stripe and handled under their security standards; DisputeAI never receives or stores your full card number. For information about how Stripe handles your data, please review Stripe’s own privacy policy.
7. Data Retention
We retain account information for as long as your account is active. Saved letters are retained until you delete them or your account is closed. Uploaded evidence files are not retained after the document is generated. Aggregate, non-identifying usage analytics may be retained to help us understand trends. We may retain limited information as needed to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.
8. Data Security
We use reputable third-party providers and reasonable technical measures, including encryption in transit, to protect information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential.
9. Sensitive Information
Disputes sometimes involve medical bills, financial accounts, or other sensitive matters. DisputeAI is not a healthcare provider or health plan and is not a “covered entity” under HIPAA, and the Service is not designed to be a repository for sensitive records. Please include only the information necessary to describe your situation, and avoid submitting full account numbers, Social Security numbers, government identifiers, or detailed medical records unless genuinely necessary for your dispute.
10. Your Choices and Rights
You can review and delete your saved letters from your dashboard at any time. You can cancel your subscription at any time, and you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us at the number below. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) or similar state privacy laws, including the right to know what personal information we hold and to request its deletion. We do not sell personal information. We will respond to verifiable requests as required by applicable law.
11. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We and our providers use essential cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for the Service to function — for example, to keep you signed in (Clerk) and to process payments (Stripe). Our own visit analytics do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking. If we introduce additional analytics or advertising technologies in the future, we will update this policy accordingly.
12. Children’s Privacy
The Service is intended for users who are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us so we can delete it.
13. Third-Party Links
The Service may link to third-party websites or resources. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties, and this policy does not apply to them.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
15. Contact
